The foundation structure for the transformer station of the Trianel wind farm on Borkum was loaded at BLG offshore terminal in Bremerhaven on 8 November.  BLG Logistics Group transported the colossus, which weighs 1,616 tons and stands over 50 m high, from their terminal ABC-Halbinsel directly onto the pontoon VIKING BARGE 7.

The SPMTs can be combined as required. In this case, 60 axles were required to move the heavyweight safely. The foundation structure will soon be transported to the wind park, which is located 45 kilometres off the coast of Borkum, and anchored in the sea. Starting in the fall of 2013, 80 wind turbines will generate enough electricity for 200,000 homes there.
