Medline’s central warehouse for Europe is powered by solar energy

On 37,000 square meters, medical products are stored for all of Europe. Since early 2017, the entire storage and logistics facility of Medline International Germany GmbH – a distributor of medical products – has been powered by green electricity. A PV system with a power of one megawatt generates some 900,000 kWh per year. Goldbeck Solar built this solar power plant.

Solar Ventures returns to Italian market with new PV investments

Solar Ventures, an Italian pioneer in the photovoltaics (PV) market, is resuming operations and investments in its home market with the aim of developing and building a portfolio of 1 GWp of solar power plants in Italy and Spain in the next five years, with a total investment of 800 million euros in equity and debt.

DNV GL has today published a new report into the activities of cities around the world that are driving the global transition to a sustainable, decarbonized energy future. The report "Energy Transition Framework for Cities" finds that while megacities attract the headlines, significant innovation and leadership is occuring in mid-size cities, which are more numerous and comprise a greater portion of the world's population in aggregate.

Siemens Gamesa reinforces offshore strategy in China by licensing the 8 MW Direct Drive technology to partner Shanghai Electric

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) took a new step in reinforcing its offshore strategy in China today when signing an additional licensing agreement with partner Shanghai Electric. End customers focus on a combination of electric mobility and photovoltaics

A current survey from EuPD Research reveals that German home-owners are highly interested in using cost-effective self-generated photovoltaic energy for their electric vehicles. Home-owners, who are currently considering the purchase of an electric vehicle, are also intent on buying a photovoltaic system. Furthermore, it is seen as the utilities’ responsibility to offer specific automotive electricity tariffs.

Fronius supplies inverters for solar project in Vietnam

A regulated feed-in tariff for solar power has been in place in Vietnam since the end of 2017. For many private individuals and companies, this is an incentive to invest in renewable energies.
