Onyx Solar dresses the world's most energy efficient production plant of Heineken

This week Heineken has opened a new brewery in Chihuahua – Mexico, which is set to become the group’s most efficient production plant in the world. The opening event has gathered all Heineken’s global executive team, Government officials and over eighty accredited media. This new plant – the company’s seventh in the country, will add a production capacity of 600 million liters per year, and will run 100% on renewable energies. In fact, the fabrication process will use 30% less water, compared to the average beer market.


Costs fall in French onshore wind tender

Costs have fallen in the latest French onshore wind tender, according to the results released by the French Government. 22 projects totalling 508 MW have won the tender. They won on price alone. The weighted average winning price was €65 MW/h. This was lower than the current tariff for smaller projects (€72 MW/h) and the €82 MW/h Feed-in Tariff previously awarded. Under the new scheme, wind farms will sell their electricity with guarantees on revenues for 20 years.

First EverFlow® Energy Storage Systems delivered to China

SCHMID has successfully installed and commissioned three EverFlow® energy storage systems in China. The order was received from one of the world’s leading producers for high-efficiency solar cells. The batteries are charged by a photovoltaic system and are controlled by a companywide energy management system. The customer uses the EverFlow® batteries as a dependable back-up system which is part of the company’s power supply concept. After a successful test phase, the customer will use SCHMID energy storage solutions in combination with their own large-scale PV projects.


ABB technology harnesses the power of the sun for expansive Dubai solar project

Earlier this month, UAE announced ambitious plans to invest $163bn to generate almost half the country’s power needs from renewable sources by 2050, with the aim to increase clean-energy contributions to 50 percent by 2050. Goldbeck Solar continues intensified activities in the Netherlands

Siemens Gamesa signs an agreement to supply up to 1 GW in Turkey

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy has signed an agreement securing the right to implement up to 1 GW in Turkey. The company is part of the consortium, which also includes the local infrastructure company Kalyon Enerji and the Turkish investor Turkerler Holding, which was awarded capacity in the country's first wind auction, held in August.
