SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES and SERIS on track to reduce cost of heterojunction solar cell manufacturing

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES and the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore at the National University of Singapore (NUS) are entering a second phase in the joint research collaboration on developing cost-effective manufacturing tools with lower cost of ownership. After an initial phase proving that an inductively coupled PECVD (ICPECVD) plasma source concept works, a new agreement was signed in which both parties continue their joint research and development efforts to industrialize highly efficient solar cell concepts. The aim of the collaboration is to develop innovative, cost-effective processes on SINGULUS’ novel mass production tools for the fabrication of crystalline silicon heterojunction solar cells.

Horizon 2020 Project demonstrates ‘RealValue’ in Small-Scale Energy Storage

Launched in 2015, ‘RealValue’, funded by Horizon 2020* (€12M EC funding), has just released its findings following the conclusion of the €15.5M European small-scale energy storage project. The consortium, led by Glen Dimplex and consisting of 13 partner organisations from across Europe who represent the entire electricity value chain, installed smart electric thermal storage systems (SETS) in approximately 750 properties throughout the 36-month study.

Siemens Gamesa to supply 70 wind turbines to three projects

Siemens Gamesa will supply three onshore wind farms in Norway including 70 units of its Onshore OptimaFlex wind turbines. The SWT-DD-130 turbines will each feature a rated capacity of 4.2 MW and a 130 m diameter rotor. All turbines will be installed on steel towers with 125 meter hub heights. The project sites with 15, 18 and 37 units are located in the Bjerkreim and Ha municipalities – approximately 50 km south-east of Stavanger. A 25-year full service agreement with a yield based availability warranty secures the long term performance of the wind farms.

East Anglia ONE awards ODE Client Representatives contract

International engineering and operations support services contractor ODE, an integral part of the DORIS Group, has been awarded a consultancy framework agreement by ScottishPower Renewables for the provision of client representatives during construction activities for the East Anglia ONE Offshore Windfarm. The agreement is the latest development in a ten-year relationship between ODE and ScottishPower Renewables, which plans to invest £2.5 billion in the East Anglia ONE project.

Speculative reports on a possible sale of Bremer wpd AG are subject of misinformation, as the company announces today. Contrary to various false reports of the past days, there are no negotiations of the sale of company shares of the German wind farm developer, which thus contradicts speculation of alleged parties involved. "The dissemination of false or misleading information is also not relevant by frequent repetition - we would like to conclude the subject with it," it says from corporate circles.
