USA: Amount of solar energy jobs increased by 13%

US solar jobs figures have continuously grown within last three years (graphics: TSF).

Employment in the US solar industry has grown by 13% – from September 2011 to September 2012. In total, 119,000 US-Americans are working within the sector today.

Welspun Energy to develop 100 MW PV in Chhattisgarh

Welspun Energy Limited (WEL,, part of the US$ 3.5 billion Welspun Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government of Chhattisgarh in central India for installing a 100 MW photovoltaic power project at an estimated cost of INR 10 billion (equivalent € 145 million).

Elettronica Santerno continues its expansion into international markets

Imola - Elettronica Santerno, the Carraro Group company specialising in power electronics, has concluded with WBHO Building Energy an important agreement for the supply of an integrated system of inverters and components for one of the largest photovoltaic plants (81 megawatts) currently under construction in the entire African continent.

France pushes photovoltaics

France wants to up its 2013 installation target for PV to at least 1,000 MW. This figure is twice the goal of the former government as envisaged by its Environment Round Table of 500 MW of new PV installations annually. Delphine Batho, the French Minister of Ecology, Energy and Sustainable Development, introduced a set of measures designed to jump-start the expansion of PV on 7 January.

Grupo Clavijo: 11.5 MW installed in a photovoltaic park in Cáceres

The Spanish company Grupo Clavijo has completed work on a new solar photovoltaic park in Cáceres (Spain). Specifically, single-axis trackers designed and manufactured by the international company have been used.
