Solar heat for 2000 students

According to the company, the project in the Turkish coastal town of Trabzon uses 274 meander collectors of the type Superline XL FSB. The plant is installed on the roof of a students' hall of residence that can accommodate 2000 students. The total collector area is 762 m2.

To do this, Novatec uses a linear Fresnel collector to focus the sunlight onto vacuum-insulated receiver tubes. These contain water, which is heated and vaporized using the solar energy.

Strategies for the development of heat storage

The initiative started by the Austria Solar Innovation Centre (ASIC) aims to develop a "Masterplan Austria Thermal Energy Storage", which will be given as recommendations to the Federal Ministry for Traffic, Innovation and Technology and presented to general public.
