The plant, which has a rated capacity of 50 MW, was entered into the Spanish energy register RIPRE (Registro de Instalaciones de Producción en Régimen Especial) at the end of December, and now receives the corresponding feed-in remuneration.

A new joint-venture has started in the area of solar process heat between a solar firm and an industrial company. This time, Industrial Solar GmbH and Dürr Systems GmbH, a specialist for automobile production technology are getting together. The companies want to combine the Eco+Paintshop, a painting plant from Dürr with the linear Fresnel collectors from Industrial Solar.

A company which has clearly also heard this is now celebrating its first anniversary. The company Sunoptimo from Belgium sells drain-back systems for large-scale solar thermal plants.

Energy bunker opens


After six years of planning and construction, the energy bunker has been opened in Hamburg during the International Building Exhibition (IBA). The former flak bunker is equipped with Germany's largest vacuum tube solar energy system and provides regeneratively produced heat for the 4,000 households of the neighbourhood Reiherstieg.

WESTFA hands its solar business over to Consolar

On 1 July 2013, the German company WESTFA GmbH will be transferring their solar business to Consolar Solare Energiesysteme GmbH, also from Germany. WESTFA will be focusing on its core business with liquid gas in the future.
