Areva plans production plant in Scotland

The French conglomerate Areva has signed an agreement of intent with the economic development agency Scottish Enterprise regarding a production site for wind turbines in the east of Scotland.

Senate finances offshore terminal in Bremerhaven

On 4 December, the Bremen Senate approved the funding for the Bremerhaven offshore terminal. The total cost will amount to € 180 million and will be funded from the budget over a period of five years. An investor model had previously failed.

Natural Power perform Energy Yield Assessment in Northern Ireland

Natural Power has worked on multiple projects in Northern Ireland, and this project represents a continuation of the company’s involvement in the region.

DONG Energy sells Polish onshore wind business

Two Polish utilities, PGE and Energa, will acquire DONG Energy’s Polish onshore wind business. The two companies will each take over separate parts of the activities.

Siemens wins wind power order from Japan

Siemens Energy has been awarded an onshore wind power order for the Akita Port wind power project on the north west coast of the Japanese island Honshu. The customer is Eurus Energy Holdings Corporation, Japan's largest wind power developer.

Vestas receives 72 MW order in Romania

Vestas has received a firm and unconditional order for 772 MW (with an option for another 122 MW) for Romania. The 36-turrbine order constitutes the first part of a project consisting of a total of 422 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines to be installed in Tulcea County in Romania. Delivery of thhe first 36 turbines is planned for the second half of 20013.

SAKANA will produce hubs for SIEMENS` 6 MW wind turbines

The cooperative Sakana, located in the region Navarra, will be the reference manufacturer of the hub and shaft castings of the new 6 MW wind turbines of SIEMENS for the period 2013-14, after the agreement reached in Hamburg between the representatives of both companies.

Dong starts flidar measurement campaign in the Irish Sea

According to the involved companies, the first commercial offshore wind measurement campaign using floating Lidar in European waters has kicked off. FLiDAR NV has deployed a Lidar buoy for Dong Energy in the southern East Irish Sea.

Eemshaven opens offshore terminal


The Blue Orange Terminal in Eemshaven is a new logistics hub for offshore wind farms in the North Sea. In the middle of June, the Buss Group officially opened their new terminal at the Dutch port with 200 guests.
