Siemens concludes framework agreement with Enel Green Power for 260 wind turbines

Siemens has concluded a framework agreement with Enel Green Power for the supply of up to 260 wind turbines for various wind farms in Europe. The total capacity of the onshore turbines is 600 megawatts (MW), sufficient to supply more than 350,000 European households with clean wind power. The agreement with the subsidiary of the Italian utility Enel S.p.A.

Australian integrated energy company Origin Energy Limited (Origin) and New Zealand's TrustPower announced the signing of Origin's largest ever wind power purchase agreement in which it will be supplied the renewable energy generated by TrustPower’s planned Snowtown II Wind Farm in South Australia.

Energetx rolls off first rotor blades

The first industrial-size wind turbine blades will soon roll off the factory floor at Energetx Composites in Holland, Michigan (USA). Energetx has begun building the 64-metre-long blades under its first major contract with a turbine supplier for wind energy projects. The company will supply the firm with the turbine blades for the next 2.5 years under that contract, MLive reports.

Sea Breeze Energy Inc. – a wholly owned subsidiary of Sea Breeze Power Corp. started construction of Phase 1 of Cape Scott Wind Farm in Canada. The project is situated 35 km west of Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island, within the traditional territories of the Quatsino, Tlatlasikwala, and Kwakiutl First Nations.
