New name for wind measurement expert Ammonit: Ammonit Measurement GmbH

Berlin - In order to increase its visibility on the global market and respond to its international clientele, the German wind measurement expert Ammonit is now operating with an English company name: Ammonit Measurement GmbH. The name change has been effective since 14 June 2011.

DeWind Co acquires 160 MW Oklahoma Wind Project

Irvine - DeWind Co a wholly owned subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. Ltd (DSME) (SEO: 042660) acquired the rights to an initial 160 MW portion of the Novus wind project from developer Novus Windpower LLC. The Novus project is the first utility-scale wind project located in the Oklahoma Panhandle and is slated to total 370 MW when fully developed.

Wind Power secures Electricity Generation in Japan after earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident

Tokyo / Bonn - According to data provided by the Japan Wind Power Association, no wind turbine in Japan was damaged by the recent earthquake and by the tsunami. As of the end of 2010, Japan had a total installed wind capacity of 2304 MW, with 1746 wind turbines.

Brussels / Hamburg - Gamesa received a Type Certificate from GL Renewables Certification (GL) for their wind turbine G52-850 kW Class I, for both grid frequencies, 50 and 60 Hz.

Siemens secures order for fifth offshore wind power plant in Germany

Siemens Energy has secured another order for an offshore wind power plant in Germany. For the customer DONG Energy the company will supply up to 89 wind turbines for the Borkum Riffgrund 1 project in the North Sea off the German coast. With a total capacity of 320 megawatts (MW) the wind power plant will supply approximately 330,000 German households with clean electricity.
