Siemens wants to build a new offshore service hub in the Dutch port of Eemshaven. The site will be used as a base port for the operation and maintenance services that Siemens will supply for the Dutch Gemini wind farm.
After merger clearance by the relevant competition authorities has been approved, the Nordex group can now merge with Acciona Windpower (AWP). Together, the two companies want to address 80% of the global wind power market.
ABB has been commissioned by the Danish energy company Dong Energy to build a 220-kilovolt high-voltage cable system. The system will connect the offshore wind farm Hornsea Project One in the North Sea with the British east coast and supply approximately one million households with wind energy.

Wind Prospect Operations opened a subsidiary in Sweden. The company’s asset management portfolio has been given another significant boost by signing contracts for the management of two large wind farms totalling 180MW in its newest market.
Siemens will build a new rotor blade factory in Morocco. Up to 700 jobs will be created. The total investment is more than € 100 million.
