Opticube is a modular solar thermal kit to create ground-mounted solar systems with a total area between 30 and 3,000 m² that can be installed without special equipment or training.

According to Sunoptimo, the company who designed Opticube, the system is very easy to install and to transport due to its modular composition. Different areas of application for this hot water system include cleaning services and housing projects, but also short-term uses, for example at festivals or humanitarian camps.

The solar thermal kit consists of a concrete foot supporting a container with the solar hydraulic components and a mounting system that leans against the container and holds 30 to 300 m² of solar thermal collectors.

The insulated 20 feet container comes with all the hydraulic components already preinstalled. It can hold different tanks with volumes between 1,500 and 9,000 litres of water for energy storage. Additionally, it contains an Optiflow drainback unit, a drainback tank, a fresh water station, pipes and cables for the controller, ready to be plugged in. The vertical collectors used in the Opticube system are also manufactured by Sunoptimo and can be installed in three or in four rows onto the steel and aluminium structures.
